Move Quickly, Challenge the Shot 快速向前移動挑戰對方

These goalies are playing against three forwards, but the goalies move quickly, challenge the shooters, and make the saves. Good job.

...and Debbie challenging the shooter, taking away the 5-hole, and making sure that there's no rebound.

Double Leg Pad Save

A double leg pad save looks really fancy, and sometimes it's all that you can do. But it's dangerous because it's difficult to control the rebound.

Tiffany's double leg pad save is a little slow, but she does a good job and makes the first save. The rebound gets away, and she tries to make the second save, but it bounces over her.



You do NOT want to slide over to make the save with one leg at an angle. If your leg is at an angle, instead of flat, the puck can go over or under you. Make a double leg pad save, or a single leg pad save... but MAKE SURE your pad is FLAT on the ice. If you don't, it will probably be a goal.

Protect Yourself

A goalie needs to be careful.
Debbie and Kevin do a good job. They stop the puck with the stick, cover it with the glove, then protect the glove with the stick.

Stick.
Glove.
Stick.

Debbie makes an easy save, then protects herself and the puck.



Kevin also does a good job of standing up and also makes some easy saves... the puck just hits him. Then he does a good job of protecting his glove.

Skate Saves - Learning what to do

Nick and Alan are learning how to make a skate save.

Nick is doing a good job, but is a little slow getting up and down.



Alan is faster getting up and down, but his skate blade needs to be flat on the ice.
